How does the CNC machining process work?
CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process that uses digital controllers to guide the machine’s toolpath, selectively removing material from the workpiece consistently and with micron accuracy.
How does CNC machining compare to 3D printing?
CNC machining is a subtractive process while 3D printing is additive. For that reason, 3D printing can make some complex designs that are not possible with conventional machining. However, CNC machining is much faster and more suited for a production environment. The surface finishes are more refined, and the parts are full strength and ready to be put into service right away.
What if my preferred material is not listed?
Our standard material list covers what we commonly use every day. If you can’t find your material here, rest assured that we have access to a very large supply chain and can easily source virtually any commercial material for any application – just ask us.
What tolerances can Procision meet?
Procison comply with DIN-2768-fine, or .005mm, for most jobs. However, if you need even tighter tolerances down to .001mm or finer, we can do that in special cases. Talk to our engineers to discuss your exact requirements!
